WALK–IN – INTERVIEW for engaging Technical Assistant on Contract

The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites applications for Walk-in-interview for engaging Technical Assistant for the Short term Project entitled “Population Genetic Structure and Gene Flow in Brown Bear (Ursus arctos isabellinus) Populations in India (Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) and assess extent of gene flow between populations of India and Pakistan : Conservation and Forensic implications” purely on contractual basis till 31st May 2017.

The EQ, DQ and other details of the Technical Assistant are as provided below:
Engagement Positions : Technical Assistant (One position)
Duration : 31st May 2017 (Extendable based on requirements)
Location of Project site : Field work in the Himalayas or Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand

Essential Qualification (EQ) : M.Sc. in Animal Genetics/Molecular Ecology/Biotechnology or M.V.Sc. Animal Genetics with 60% aggregated marks and above from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualification (DQ) : Working experience DNA extraction, and running electrophoresis.
Description of Work : Candidate should able to take undertake field work independently

Age : Not exceeding 30 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC and Physically handicapped categories may be relaxed as per the rules.

Emoluments : Rs. 16,000+HRA
Funding : DST funded

General Conditions :
1. The candidate should report by 0930 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 1st March, 2017 followed by an Interview on the same day at 1100 hrs. The Institute will not provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview.

2. Candidates should bring the duly filled-in application with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications along with certificate of extracurricular activities; date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations etc.

All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of registration for necessary verification.

3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
