Project Title : Identification of Genes and Pathways Involved in Hypocholestremic Drug responsiveness in Human Cells by RNAi based Functional Pharmacogenomics

Applications are invited for temporary Junior Research Fellow (JRF) & Lab Technician positions to work in a Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi funded research project entitled “Identification of Genes and Pathways Involved in Hypocholestremic Drug responsiveness in Human Cells by RNAi based Functional Pharmacogenomics”, to work under the guidance of Dr.G.Kumaresan, Principal Investigator, Dept. of Genetics, School of Biological Sciences, Madurai Kamaraj University.

1. JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW -JRF:
Essential Qualifications: First class M.Sc./ M.Tech, in Biotechnology / Zoology / Genetics / Genomics / Biomedical Sciences / Biochemistry or related branch of life sciences. It is mandatory to have qualified in NET conducted by CSIR/UGC/ICMR or GATE.

Those with NET/GATE and awaiting the final semester results also can apply, subject to the condition that it is mandatory to produce the final semester and consolidated marks before joining, if selected. Hands-on experience in Molecular Biology or Cell Biology projects is desirable (Fellowship @ Rs. 25,000 pm + HRA, as per ICMR and MKU norms;

Duration: Until the project period of March 2020 / ICMR support / as per other conditions of performance and assessment;

Ph.D Registration: The selected candidates would be considered for Ph.D. registration at Madurai Kamaraj University under the Supervision of Principal Investigator as per MKU regulations).

2. LAB TECHNICIAN:
Essential Qualifications:
First class M.Sc.,/M.Tech, in Zoology / Genetics / Genomics / Biotechnology / Bioinformatics / Biomedical Sciences / Biochemistry / Pharmacology / Chemistry / or related branch of life sciences. Hands-on experience in Molecular Biology / Cell Biology / Genomics Data Analysis / Drug Formulation / Chemical Synthesis is desirable.

Essential Qualifications:
Candidates with B.Sc., in any branch of life sciences with the completion of DMLT course and one year working experience in clinical diagnostic lab in analysing the serum / biochemistry parameters with autoanalyzer also would be considered (Salary @ Rs. 18,000 pm (consolidated)).

* Dispersal of fellowship / salary is contingent with the release of the grant from ICMR.
