About us :
The Government of Tamil Nadu have constituted a new Board for School Examination viz “State Board of School Examinations” by merging the two separate boards i.e., (1) Board of Secondary Education and (2) Board of Higher Secondary Examinations vide G.O.(Ms) No.26, School Education (V1) Department, Dated: 16.02.2011.

The first secondary school leaving certificate exam was conducted in the year 1911. This directorate started conducting the following major exams from the year noted against each of them, in addition to the various examination.
