GIS Specialist Recruitment :
Eligible, Experienced and Interested candidates are invited for walk in interview on 27/04/2017 at 3:00 pm, RMC West Zone office, behind Big Bazar, 150 ft ring road, Rajkot for the post of “GIS Specialist” (1 Post) & “Town Planning Specialist/Urban Planner (1 Post) for PMAY Technical Cell of Rajkot Municipal Corporation- Fully on Contractual basis for 11 months.

1. GIS Specialist
Fixed Pay : Rs. 25,000/- per month (inclusive all)
The primary responsibility of the GIS expert will be to provide advisory support to the RMC to support speedy deployment of GIS and its continuous use and proactively recommend ways to make it more user-friendly and efficient.
Qualification and Experience :
** Masters degree in Planning, Engineering, Geography, Computer Sciences or Other relevant discipline with 2 years of work experience is desirable.
** Demonstrated proficiency and creative application of GIS in the urban context
** Knowledge of urban planning & housing.
** Ability to work with, motivate/ train Govt staff.
Roles and responsibilities :
** To prepare Different kinds of maps for the city and work closely with the GIS consultants/ concerned RMC officials in regard to digitisation, geo-referencing, ground verification and preparation of base maps etc.
** Work closely with the MIS Specialist/expert in providing advisory support for collating spatial and non-spatial information and in GIS-MIS integration & Advice for integration of total station survey in to GIS domain.
** Work closely with the housing department and provide guidance in the development & implementation of Slum-free City Plan & Housing For All Plan of Action.
** Any other related tasks that may be entrusted upon by the head of technical cell.
2. Town Planning Specialist/Urban Planner
Fixed Pay : Rs. 25,000/- per month (inclusive all)
Candidates are required to bring all original supporting documents at the time of interview
Qualifications & Experience :
** Post Graduate or graduate Degree in Urban Planning or Regional Planning or Geography.
** Minimum of 2 years of work experience in urban planning with experience of urban infrastructure projects/ affordable housing/slum development projects is desirable.
** Experience of reform oriented projects is desirable.
** Fluency in local language desirable.
Roles and responsibilities :
** Programme design and implementation of the Housing For All Plan of Action (HFAPoA) according to HFA Mission.
** Identify in consultation with the local body the geographic area to be covered under HFA city plan.
** Assist in identifying the slum pockets and other areas to be covered under the HFA within the city.
** Assist in amending/preparing city Master Plan for earmarking land slum redevelopment and affordable housing.
** As part of the slum mapping exercise, identify ownership of the land occupied by slums and map various categories of land e.g. public land, private land, disputed land etc.
** Assist in categorization of each slum in terms of its tenability.
** Assist in selection of best model for in-situ development and deciding options for relocation of untenable slums.
** Assist in developing building plans and lay-outs for EWS/LIG houses that will be considered as pre-approved plans for the purpose of single window clearance for layout approvals and building permissions at RMC Level.
** Assist in integration of the data, and housing demand survey information at city level to create MIS.
** Develop and update databases on planning related activities.
** Any other related tasks that may be entrusted upon by the head of CLTC.
