Field Assistant, Project Technician Recruitment :

A walk-in interview/written test is proposed to be held on 25th and 26th May 2017 at 10:00 am to fill up the following posts on consolidated salary, under the ad-hoc projects as detailed below.

Candidates, who fulfil the requisite qualifications, may appear for the walk-in interview/written test.

The candidate should submit the prescribed APPLICATION FORM at REGIONAL MEDICAL RESEARCH CENTRE (ICMR), Dollygunj, PORT BLAIR together with self attested copies of all the certificates relating to educational qualification, date of birth, working experiences etc.

Candidates are also required to bring their original certificates for verification. The registration process will start at 10:00 am. The exact time of interview/ written test will be intimated to the candidates on 25th May 2017, after completion of the registration process.

Name of the project: Establishment of Diagnostic, Virology laboratory (Grade-I).
a. Name of the Post : PROJECT TECHNICIAN-III
Number of post : ONE (SC)
Salary : Rs.17,040/- per month (consolidated).
Essential :
12th pass in science subjects and two years diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician or one year DMLT plus one year required experience in a recognized organisation or two years field/laboratory experience* in Government recognized organisation.
*B.Sc. degree shall be treated as 3 years experience.
Desirable :
** Working experience in virology / microbiology.
** Knowledge of Computer Applications.
Age : 30 years.

II) Name of the project: Micro Mapping of G6PD Deficiency among the Tribes of India and its importance for Anti-Malarial Therapy
a. Name of the Post : PROJECT TECHNICIAN-III
Number of post : ONE (OBC)
Salary : Rs.17,040/- per month (consolidated).
Essential :
12th pass in science subjects and two years diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician or one year DMLT plus one year required experience in a recognized organisation or two years field/laboratory experience* in Government recognized organisation.
*B.Sc. degree shall be treated as 3 years experience.
Desirable :
** Working experience in Microbiology/Biochemistry/Virology.
** Knowledge of Computer Applications.

III) Name of the project : “CHARACTERIZATION OF PROTEINS INVOLVED IN THE ADHESION OF LEPTOPIRA TO EPITHELIAL CELLS AND MICROPHAGES AND THEIR FUNCTION”

Essential :
B.Sc./B.Tech in life Sciences from a recognized university with three years work experience from a recognized institution or Master’s degree in life science.
Desirable :
** Working experience in Proteomics .
** Knowledge of Bio-Informatics/Data Analysis software .

IV) Name of the project: “WHOLE GENOME SEQUENCING TO UNDERSTAND VIRULENCE FACTORS OF INFECTING LEPTOSPIRAL SEROVARS/STRAIN WITH VARIED CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS”.

Essential :
Graduate in Microbiology/Biotechnology from a recognized university with three years work experience from a recognized institution or Master’s degree in relevant subject.
Desirable :
** Working experience in Microbiology/Biotechnology.

b. Name of the Post : LABORATORY TECHNICIAN-III

Graduate in Life Science/Zoology/from a recognized university with three years work experience from a recognized institution or Master’s degree in Life Science/Medical Entomology/Public Health Entomology.
Desirable :
** Working experience with Tribal area with ‘Tribal Communities”.
** Knowledge in vector ecology and bionomics.
** Experience in sampling design in field entomology
** Knowledge of Computer with RS/GIS applications.

b. Name of the Post : FIELD ASSISTANT (PROJECT TECHNICIAN-II)
Number of post : FOUR (GEN-01,ST-01, SC-01 & OBC-01)
Salary : Rs.17,000/- per month (consolidated).
Essential : High school *or equivalent with five years experience in laboratory/Field work from a Government institution or recognized institute.
* Intermediate with science subjects and B.Sc. shall be treated as equivalent to 2 and 3 years experience respectively.
Desirable :
** Working experience with Tribal area with ‘Tribal Communities”.
** Field survey works in life science
** Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Salary : Rs. 51,000/- per month (consolidated).
Essential :
Candidates should posses 1st Class Master Degree in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Medical Entomology from a recognized university with four years work experience OR 2nd Class M.Sc.+P.hD degree in relevant subjects from a recognized university with four years work experience.
Desirable :
** Experience in Vector bionomics /Microbiology /Biotechnology.
** Working experience in modeling field data related to life science.
** Knowledge of Computer Applications and statistical softwares.
