Project Scientist Recruitment :

Assam Remote Sensing Application Centre (ARSAC) a division of Assam Science Technology and Environment Council is involved in execution of Projects “BHUVAN State Node” and “North East Spatial Data Repository”.

The task involves development and application of Web GIS database and network management / Hardware monitoring and maintenance.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following positions on temporary basis for a period of one year which can be further extended based on the performance of the candidate in the periodical reviews, for a maximum period of 03 (three) years in total or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier:

Name of the Post : Project Scientist -Web GIS

Essential Qualification : B.E./ B.Tech (Computer Science /IT)
Desired Credentials :
1. Knowledge of Web services/ Technologies such as Javascript/HTML5/Jquery/XML etc.
2. Spatial Web geo-processing and analysis.
3. Adequate knowledge and experience in Spatial Database Management System, preferably in PostgreSQL/Post GIS.
4. Experience in Mapserver, Geoserver, Geonetwork and Openlayers based mapping frameworks.

Name of the Post : Project Scientist – Application of Remote Sensing & Web GIS
No. of Post : 1 (one)
Essential Qualification : Masters degree in Geoinformatics / Remote Sensing
Desired Credentials : Knowledge of Web services, Java, Spatial Web geo-processing and analysis, Postgres SQL/Post GIS,Mapserver, Geoserver, Geonetwork, Spatial data managment.

Name of the Post : IT TECHNICIAN-Networking
No. of Post : 1 (one)
Essential Qualification : Graduate with Diploma / Certificate course in Hardware / Networking /RedHat LINUX
Desired Credentials : MCSE, Red hat LINUX with minimum 3yrs experience. Working experiencewith large LAN / SAN environment

Age Limit:
35 years as on 16.01.2017 (40 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 38 years for OBC candidates). Ex-serviceman and Persons with Disabilities are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India orders. Candidates claiming age relaxation have to submit valid documentary proof.

Date of Interview:
For Sl. No. 1 and 2 (Project Scientist -Web GIS & Application of Remote Sensing & Web GIS) on 03.06.17 at 11 am onwards.
Sl. No. 3 (I.T. TECHNICIAN-Networking) on 02.06.17 at 11 am onwards.
Applications will be accepted/received between 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. only on the respective dates. No application will be entertained after 11:00 A.M.

Place of Interview: ASTEC, Bigyan Bhawan, G.S. Road, Guwahati-05

General Conditions:
** Candidates appearing for interview will have to produce all relevant documents in original as per details furnished in their applications along with a set of self-attested Xerox copies at the time of interview.
** The number of posts notified is provisional and may vary depending upon actual as per Credentials.

** These Project Scientist positions are purely on temporary basis for a period of 11(eleven) months, which can be further extended based on the performance of the candidate in the periodical reviews, for a maximum period of 03 (three) years in total or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.

The position of Project Scientist will not confer any claim or right for regular employment at ASTEC and the services of Project Scientist are liable to be terminated without any notice and without assigning any reasons thereof.

** Project Scientists are eligible for leaves as per rules of ASTEC for the Project Staff.
** In case, any information furnished in the application is found to be wrong or false, even after appointed, the candidate will be terminated from the assigned job.

** Candidates already in employment under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies required to bring “No Objection Certificate” from the employer concerned, at the time of interview failing which the candidate will not be interviewed.

** The selected candidates will be posted in ASTEC, Guwahati, Assam, but will have to travel anywhere in Assam as and when required.
