Applications are invited from interested and eligible candidates for one PROJECT ASSISTANT in Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata for the Project on ‘Diversity, distribution and status of freshwater fishes of Jaldhaka River, West Bengal, India’ sponsored by the West Bengal Biodiversity Board.

The position will be on purely temporary basis for a period of one year and extendable by another one year or till completion of the project.
Tenure of the Project: Two Years.
Place of Posting: Kolkata (West Bengal) but need to conduct extensive field survey in the study area.
Essential Qualification: Master degree in Zoology/Life Science/Environmental Science with minimum 55% marks from a recognised University.
Desirable: Two years experience in conducting field survey, collections of fish specimens, field photography etc. Candidate having knowledge of computer applications will be given preference.
Stipend: Rs.10,000/- P.M. (Consolidated)

Venue of Interview: Baini Prashad Hall, First Floor, Zoological Survey of India, Prani Vigyan Bhawan, 535, M-Block, New Alipore, Kolkata – 700 053.
Age Limit: Age shall not be more than 35 years on of the interview. Upper age limit is relaxed up to 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-Non Creamy Layer (NCL)/Women/ Physically Challenged applicants.
The above post is purely temporary and can be terminated with one month notice. The terms and the condition of the appointment shall be governed in accordance with the Zoological Survey of India.
Interested candidate should bring completely filled in application form on plain paper and one passport size photograph pasted along with self attested copies of all certificates and mark sheets for attending the walk in interview on the time and venue mentioned above.
Candidates need to produce original certificates and mark sheets for verification at the time of interview. No T.A./D.A. is admissible to the candidates for appearing at the walk in interview. The Director, Zoological Survey of India reserves the rights of selection or rejection of any candidate and cancellation of the walk in interview.
