About the Project :
Kochi Metro Rail Limited is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) owned by GoK and GoI. It is constructing a Metro Rail in Kochi. Apart from this, it is the Project Executing Agency for building Water Transportation System in Kochi. It is proposed to connect the mainland with the islands by ferries.

This project envisages procurement of 78 modern air-conditioned boats, building of 38 world class jetties along with required navigation and operational control centre. The project will also require development of access roads and feeder transportation system. The cost of the project is estimated about Rs.750 crore.

This project is being funded by KfW a German Bank. The Kochi Water Metro Project shall be headed by General Manager (Water Transport) under the guidance of Director (Systems), KMRL.

General Manager (Water Transport) will head the Project Division. He/she shall report to Director (Systems) and shall take technical guidance from Director (Projects) on civil engineering matters and will be responsible for the execution of the project.

Type of employment : Direct recruitment or Re-employment basis. Qualification Graduate Engineer in Marine / Naval Architecture/Mechanical/Electrical.

Experience :
For direct recruitment:
Minimum 17 years post qualification experience in executive/managerial position in Marine / Naval Architecture field.
Candidates having experience in shipyards or ports or in water transport infrastructure projects shall be given preference.

For re- employment basis:
Officers of Government Organizations / PSUs retired in CDA pay scale of Rs.37400 – 67000 (grade pay Rs.10000) or IDA pay scale of Rs.51300-73000.
Candidates should necessarily have experience in shipyards or ports or in water transport infrastructure projects.
